On his way to the local Taco Bell, Reddit user “CaffeinatedZombie” saw a man trying to get at a family of baby ducks who were obviously in trouble. He and a friend ran over to help, with the intention of just calling animal control. But by the time animal control arrived, the ducklings were all safe and sound. Here’s how the story unfolded…
It appears that the ducklings had all fallen into the storm drain after following their mother across the street…
The mother duck looks nervous, but grateful for the help…
Using a cup, a bootlace, and a stick, they finally rescued the first baby duck…
But this little guy wants out…

Animal control safely transported the mother and her ducklings to a private pond far enough away from the city that this won’t happen again…
According to the rescuer, the mother duck stayed next to them the entire time, circling around. They had to move her a bit a few times, but for the most part she was very calm, knowing they were there to help. But once all the ducklings were safe, and some random onlooker decided to tell them everything they had done wrong, she snapped at HIM!
